We value positive relationships with parents and carers to help develop better social and emotional skills in children. We know that when children are engaged with their learning, they attend school more regularly, leading to better long term outcomes.

For parenting and counselling services, visit the Family Support page, and for direction and clarity on regulations, processes and procedures at our school, read the Sydney Catholic School policies.

At St Michael’s, we highly value positive relationships with parents and carers as they play a crucial role in helping children develop strong social and emotional skills. We know that when children are engaged in their learning, they attend school more regularly, which leads to better long-term outcomes.

For parenting and counselling services, please visit our Family Support page. For guidance on regulations, processes, and procedures at our school, we encourage you to review the Sydney Catholic School policies.

We invite all parents to actively engage with the school community through the Parents and Friends Association (P&F). The P&F aims to:

  • Recognise and value the important role parents and carers play in their children’s education
  • Foster a welcoming and friendly environment for all members of the school community
  • Strengthen the partnership between family, school, parish, and the wider community to benefit the overall development and learning of our children
  • Fundraise to support resources and enrich the learning environment at the school

Our school is committed to keeping parents well-informed about school news and their children’s progress. The following communication channels are in place:

  • The school app (Compass) helps parents stay up-to-date with events at the school. All parents are expected to have the app on their smartphones.
  • The school newsletter is issued every second Thursday, starting in the second week of each term. It is available via the Compass Parent Portal, and parents are notified through email and app alerts. The newsletter includes information about upcoming activities, reminders, and other important updates. This is our primary method of communication with parents.
  • At the start of each term, an overview is provided that outlines the curriculum for the upcoming weeks. If further clarification is needed, parents are encouraged to arrange a convenient time to meet with the class teacher.
  • Formal parent-teacher interviews take place at the beginning of each school year and at the end of semester one. Parents may also request a meeting with the class teacher or a member of the leadership team if needed.
  • Our Facebook and Instagram pages are great resources for staying connected with the school and keeping up to date with the latest news.
  • Every weekend, we share an events page for the upcoming week, providing parents with a clear overview of school activities.

To arrange an interview, please call (02) 9808 2658 or email the school office at info@smpsmeadowbank.catholic.edu.au
